The Calling From Above (Author Unknown)
An Absolute Dependence On God And His Unseen Treasure
The Lord will allow others to receive honours and stand out, while He keeps you hidden in the shadows, because He wants to produce choice and fragrant fruit for His coming glory, and that can only be produced in the shadows.
God may allow others to be great, but you must remain small; God will allow others to work for Him and gain fame, but He will cause you to work and grow strong without you even knowing how much you are doing. Then, to make all your work all the more valuable, He will allow others to receive the credit for what you do, in order to teach you the message of the cross: humility, and something of what it means to partake of His nature. The Holy Spirit will keep a strict watch over you and, with jealous love, will reprove you for your words, or for your indifferent feelings, or for wasting your time – things that seem not to concern other Christians.
Therefore, come to terms with the fact that God is an absolute sovereign who has the right to do as He pleases with those who belong to Him, and that he cannot explain to you the countless things that might confuse your mind about the way He deals with you. God will take you at your word, and if you sell yourself to be His slave without reservation, He will envelop you in a jealous love that will allow others to do many things that will not be permitted to you.
Know this once and for all: You have to deal with them directly with the Holy Spirit. He will have the privilege of binding your tongue, or chaining your hands, or closing your eyes to what is permitted to others. However, you will know the secret of the Kingdom.
When you are possessed by the living God in such a way that you feel happy and content in the depths of your heart with this peculiar, personal, private and jealous tutelage and with this government of the Holy Spirit over your life, then you will have found the entrance to Heaven, the high calling of God.
